Trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan gained by 7% y/y from January to April, Azernews reported.
Total trade volume reached $1.5bn, compared to $1.4bn during the same period in 2022. Uzbekistan's exports to Kazakhstan amounted to $426.8mn, showing a significant increase of 16.4% y/y from $366.5mn.
On the other hand, Kazakhstan's exports to Uzbekistan totalled $1.08bn, up 4% y/y from $1.04bn.
Earlier this year, Kazakh Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov highlighted how Uzbekistan is one of the country's major trading partners, with bilateral trade reaching $5bn in 2022. Both nations have set a medium-term target to further increase their trade volume to $10bn.
