Slovenia’s industrial output down 10.2% y/y in December

Slovenia’s industrial production fell by 10.2% in December, following a 0.8% decrease in the previous month (chart), statistics office data indicated on February 9.

In 2023  industrial production declined by 5.3%.

Year on year, the industrial output was higher only in the mining and quarrying (by 7.4%), but it declined in the key manufacturing sector by 8.1% and in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply by 36.3%.

At a monthly level, the industrial production decreased by 7.5% in December, after increasing by 3.7% in November.

Additionally, the total turnover in the industry saw a 5.1% monthly decline, and a stronger 7.2% y/y drop in December.
