King Abdullah II of Jordan, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and French President Emmanuel Macron convened a trilateral summit in Cairo on April 7 to address the escalating humanitarian and security crisis in Gaza.

During the summit, hosted by President El-Sisi, the leaders stressed the urgent need for the international community to push for an immediate ceasefire, the resumption and enforcement of a truce agreement, and the sustained delivery of humanitarian aid to alleviate the worsening conditions faced by Gaza’s civilian population.

King Abdullah warned that the continuation of Israeli military operations undermines diplomatic and humanitarian efforts and risks plunging the region into chaos.

He called for a comprehensive regional de-escalation and reiterated the importance of reviving a political horizon based on the two-state solution, ensuring peace and stability for both Palestinians and Israelis.

The King expressed appreciation for Egypt’s continued support for Arab issues, particularly the Palestinian cause, and commended France’s backing for a ceasefire in Gaza and its endorsement of the Arab plan for Gaza’s reconstruction.

King Abdullah reaffirmed Jordan’s rejection of any forced displacement of Palestinians from Gaza or the West Bank and cautioned against ongoing unilateral Israeli actions and violations against Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.

The Jordanian Royal Court said that "the leaders urged the international community to push for an end to the Israeli war on Gaza, a return to the ceasefire agreement, and its enforcement."

It also highlighted that "the three leaders stressed the necessity of resuming sufficient humanitarian aid to Gaza to alleviate the worsening crisis faced by its residents."

The statement from the Jordanian Royal Court further clarified that “The three leaders stressed the need for a viable political process leading to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital. They urged the importance of preventing further escalation and securing regional stability.”

President Macron praised the roles of Jordan and Egypt in defending Palestinian rights and reiterated France’s commitment to restoring calm and working toward a political resolution.

The Jordanian delegation included Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi, Director of the King's Office Jaafar Hassan, and Jordan’s Ambassador to Cairo, Amjad Adaileh.

Following the summit, King Abdullah held separate meetings with President El-Sisi and President Macron, discussing bilateral ties and highlighting the importance of continued coordination to advance shared regional interests and support global peace and stability.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, French President Emmanuel Macron, and Jordan’s King Abdullah II held a joint phone call with US President Donald Trump, on the sidelines of the trilateral summit convened in Cairo to discuss developments in Gaza.

Presidential Spokesman Mohamed El-Shennawy said that "The call focused on ways to secure an immediate ceasefire, ensure the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid, and the urgent need for the release of all hostages and detainees."

El-Shennawy added that "The three leaders affirmed the importance of creating the necessary conditions for a realistic political horizon and mobilising international efforts to end the suffering of the Palestinian people and restore security and peace through the implementation of the two-state solution based on international references."

He noted that the leaders agreed with President Trump to maintain close coordination in the coming period as part of a joint effort to secure de-escalation and advance a political solution.
